Pietrarossa’s vineyard is situated just 3 kilometers south from the Montalcino’s town,in the locality of La Croce, in front of the “Tenuta Greppo”.
The name Pietrarossa derives from the geological characteristics of the terroir,formed by stones,marl soil and reddish sand surely left by ancient seas.
The first Brunello we commercialized was vintage 2004,however my grandfather has been producing limited quantities for family’s personal use already since the 1970’s and 80’s.
Our Brunello is typically “tradictional style” and maturing “exclusively” in “ Slavonian oak grand casks ”for about 39 months.
Focusing on wines suited for long cellar aging, the resulted drinkability sometimes is not easy and immediate,it takes time to evolve in a harmonious way.
